Childhood shows

I miss watching all the shows i watched when i was a kid.
A huge pity many of these shows are not showing on tv. I think i would watch them online and maybe buy a few to keep and continue to remember the wonderful shows i used to watch.

How my memory was suddenly triggered:
On Sheryls blog-> her friend commented that our family is quirky.
then sheryl got reminded about the adam's family. then i got reminded about all the old shows i used to watch.

Not anything like now where when you on the tv(most of the times), some bad witch craft shows, monsters(not those cute ones) shows, aliens...
I sometimes understand how the language spoken by kids and the way they are acting got about.

I think they should show veggie tales, the adventures of the book of virtues, odyssey...
I think kids can learn a lot by watching these shows. adds some good values into their lives.

if not for the revisions, i would be resting at home, not going school.

school started at 8.
talked the whole way to school, din sleep at all.
sheryl said i entertain her until she cannot sleep also.
have sore throat. cannot sing.
but can still talk. talk replace singing.
haiyah. i just can't keep quiet.
dad brought me and che2 to lunch today. @ simply bread.
had some turkey......bread and grilled chicken with mushrooms...bread.
nice, super nice.
loved it.
free somemore!!! shd eat with dad more often.

went back for 2 more hours of lesson and then homed

Horrible Friday

Feeling so much better after a long hot bath!!!

Went out for dinner just now with my family, together with Mama and her maid.
Went to the hua yu wee: the place we always go for chilli crab.
Ate sambal kangkong, tofu, chicken, hor fan, chilli crab.
YUMMY!!!!
Then i dunno what happened, got 6 mosquito bites now!! so itchy!!!
After eating, i was playing my psp. Something droped on my leg. I was concentrating on my game to look, and i thought it was just a leaf.
However, to my horror, "IT" started strugling, and moving on my leg.
I could feel its claws.
I looked down, saw a lizard, SCREAMED, jumped up(with the chair), and the whole chair moved towards mum. and sat down with my legs on the chair.

Sheryl, mum: what happenwhat happen???
Jeremy ran to my place and: what happen what happen???
I screamed: lizard, lizard!!!
mum, jeremy: chey
Mum: i thought was a cat
Sheryl: yah la!!

I almost cried, tears were formed, but i controlled, cause we were in an open area.
and i think my scream alerted everyone there already

I hate lizards.
I hate insects (except bees, for now) cause they help me make honey:) my favourite.

This is the 2nd time in my life a lizard jumped on me. the last time, was at my house, it dropped on my leg too, from the air con.
I screamed, and ran out of the house, and into my neighbour's house.
I did'nt even locked the door, and there was no one at home.
I did not went home until mum came back.

additional things going into my already filled bag: insect repellent, insect spray, moz-bite cream.

Terrible.

- That i will be able to remember all the steps correctly (esp 12 cranial nerves)
- that i won't be so nervous
- that i will not laugh when Aida acts as my patient.

Cuttle Fish Club

A Cuttle Fish club has just been set!!!
members include: Karen, Audrey, Wilyn, Cherie ...
Today's Tuesday, prac test is in 2 days time.
i am having a 4 hour break now.
doing project now. the presentation is later!!!!

things that happened on...
Saturday:
8am- violin lesson (which i plan to stop) i'm tooooo busy!!!! no time to practice so going for lessons are a waste of money.
10am- cooked bee tai mak (fried) for alpha
12pm- Alpha at jasmine's house(only my Ly and J)
went crocs sale after that!!!
The crowed was expected.
The snatching and pushing and "iwant this one.. that one" was a horror.
I bought 2 crocs shoes for only $20 each :)
but i felt cheated the next day... you would know later in the post.
Went tamp.1 after that. Bought xiao ba wang set meal home and 4 people share.
Food is good.

Sunday
churched at 830am.
had ck duty.(song leading)
but remained behind to teach 2 kids.

Went to baba king with dad, mum, che2 joey and uncle matthew and their 2 kids for lunch
- got puked on by the baby girl.
I have to get use to this, going to KKH in june
S (the son) is so hyper. run here run there.
so much energy.
if i have to look after him for a week, i will loose 10 kg.

and now the shoes are selling cheaper!!!!!

Lets start form.... YESTERDAY!!!
on the way home from school, which ended at 6pm.
when i was on bus 5 and reaching home, it started to pour.
when i was about to reach my bis stop, 3 kids started to sing rain, rain, go away.
super cute. haha. then i heard a shhhhh!! coming from somewhere. so mean.

Today, Sheryl fetched us to school.
Jeremy kept on making funny faces when i tried to take photos with him.
Sheryl so tired she slept at the traffic light, and asked Jeremy to wake her up when the light turns green.

Today "schooled" till 1 followed ny ikea with Audrey (wilyn ah, that girl went out with other people).
Me and audrey ordered a lot of food and ended us wasting some.
Things ordered:
- 2 plates of 10-piece meatballs
- 4 chicken wings
- a bowl of asparagus soup and 1 bread.

Walked around ikea, and saw quite nice stuffs.
Audrey was attracted to some rocking thing. (at the children’s section)
We saw this pillow that can put a kid’s leg in.
But we are not sure what is actually is for.
Putting your legs in and hopping around?????

When opposite ikea to a shopping centre which name i forgot.

The things there are quite cheap.
I bought a Club Marc jeans, and a belt.
Going there again soon, when DIONE GOH comes back. Ok?

We went to buy our nursing uniforms after that. At delta house there.
So expensive.
Headed home after that.
Took the mrt. Times has changed, men are no gentleman anymore.
Out of 20 seats, i think 20 of them are occupied by men. All the women were standing up.
Finally, i got a seat.
Then i became squashed by 2 men. I had to lean forward, cannot lean backwards.

When bedok, Walked around for a while then headed home.

Today’s a tiring day, and i need to have a foot massage now.

Tomorrow Alpha launch!!!! PRAY!!!!

managed to finish the powerpoint by 11pm!!! so late right.

was quite dissapointed .......
hope that does'nt happen again.

Things + continuation

it's 8.20 am again.
and i'm at canteen 1, waiting for our space(AIRCON!!!) to be opened.
presentation is tomorrow and not even half of the slides are done.
its hard to try to hide my fustrations.
of which, i will not write here.
it will just go on, and on, and on.

Bad things that happened so far today:
1. FORGOT MY HANDPHONE!!!!
2. FORGOT MY MP3 PLAYER
3. my laptop battery is running flat and our space is not opened yet
( hope my laptop does not shut off half way while i write this post)

Good things that happened so far!!!
1. had a good breakfast!!! (which i made on my own.) no photos, cause they are in my stomach already. it consist of black-pepper chicken(thigh) and colslaw in-between 2 slices of toasted bread. Yumm!!!
2. had half a cup of honey (jeremy took one big cup and left only half for me)
3. my bag is not heavy today!!!

Been feeling very tired lately, not sure if its the lack of sleep or the lectures(which are super heavy.)
Can't seem to concentrate in school.
AND EXAMS are next week!!! (starting with practical) and 2 weeks after that being the written papers.
I reallyreally need God's help to guide me through this exam.

God, please give me the wisdom to understand the lessons taught in school. give me the brain to be able to stored all thats being learnt. Please give me the energy to study and the interest in my work, that i will be able to enjoy studying. And also the right attitude!!!

Early Tuesday Morning

8.20am now.
in school
waiting for class to start.

I think having patience and showing grace to others are missing from my life.
Its not even 3 hours since i woke up.
And i had already done things that reflects on me.

745am. Sheryl alighted me at SP bus stop.
i waited at the busstop.
bus 74 came, and went.
not stopping for passengers even though the bus was not crowded and there were others at the bus stop wanting to get on the bus too.
got quite fustrated (not a good way to start the day)
in my head, i was somehow scolding the bus driver.
(an act of not showing grace)

waited for the next 74 bus....
took ages.
the more i waited, the more fustrated i got.
loosing my patience, and blaming the previous driver for not stopping.

to my horror, the next 74 bus was those older kind of bus with NO AIRCON!!!
i could have blown up.

skip the bus. next topic.
reached school.
walked through SIM reach nursing block.
waited for lift.
people started walking there too.
lift door opened. people rushed in.
i think they shoud have a Q-up line for lifts.

reached level 3.
another group of student, walking in 1 straight line.
HOW AM I SURPOSE TO WALK PASS!!!!
plus all the previous experiences this morning.
I could have burst.

i wanted to put this as my blog song. but got some difficulties.
so i put a youtube video first

a summary of 3 days in my life

School on saturday.
had BCLS (basic cardiac life support) lessons + theory test+ practical test
all from 8 am to 5 pm+
from 8am till lunch was practice and 30 MCQ theory test.
after that was lunch (duck rice!!! from SIM, THE BEST!!!)
after lunch, some year 3s wanted to do some research on us, made us do CPRs on the mannequin. did a total of 3 CPRs for them. so tiring. After that still got prac. test.
By then, really had no energy.
so i was missing all the ranges. chest compressions(the pumping- 1n2n3n4n5n 1n2n3n4n10n........30n x5) not hard enough. Ventilations(blowing of air in to the mouth) to fast or not enough.
So i had to redo... redo... redo. again and again and again. millions of time.
supersuper tired.
I almost collasped when doing the chest compressions- due to lack of energy.
Thanks to Wilyn, who shouted my name, i managed to gain my balance again.

CPR is just 1 big part of the test.
besides that still had to test on what to do when someone choking ( 2 kinds- normal and obese/pregnant), baby cpr, baby choking...

When home, same bus as Shidah. no seats, and i almost fell manymany times.
legs- no energy, hands- no energy, WHOLE BODY -NO ENERGY!!!

went home, did an ice cold-compress for my swollen hand.

at night, applied muscle pain gel like soaping myself.
went to bed with thight support on my arm.

One long tired day. but i have to admit, it was quite fun.

Sunday.
went to church @ 8.30am to practice for signing during worship.
i was'nt as nervous as i thought i would be
(I thought i would be so nervous that i would not even go up the stage)
but when i went up, i got a real shock. the stage was really high.
was scared i fall off the stage.
Thank God He was with me,
without him i think i would be standing on the stage like a statue, not moving at all.

went home after church for lunch ( yo eng zhai - some cuttle fish(sotong) beehoon with the chee chong fan sauce) :)
one of my many favourite food.
then went to take an afternoon nap.
Woke up with a SHOCK.
THANKS TO DIONE GOH JIA LI
Sheryl brought her group home.
Dione entered the house shouting:
"HELLO KAREN TAN HUIJUAN!!!"

after that really cannot sleep.
did project for the rest of the day till 11pm.

Monday.
Dione is now in Vietnam.
on a holiday with her dad.
she better buy things for me :)
aiyah... should have lent her my camera.
Her camera so lousy + crazy.

Today was school day.
and i was'nt the usual monday blues
Maybe because wilyn was awake today.

Last lesson was NSL, and i must say, i enjoyed myself.
I somehow think my lecturer finds me mischievous.
I think she finds the whole class mischievous (ESPECIALLY AIDA!!!)

I liked the weather today,
i like it when its raining when i don't need to go outdoors.
COOLING!!!

hand to travel the long journey home because sheryl ended lessons early and did not want to wait for me.
so sad :(
